What's UP!  I am Ben Wade and if you have finally come to the realization that you need a budget, then look no further.  This page is going to teach you why money is fuel, how to take control that fuel and focus on burning that fuel to meet your wants and needs.

WHAT IS A BUDGET?

If you google the definition of a budget, you will get the following boring, robotic definition.
This is a good starting point, but really would never inspire anyone to make one.  I think a budget is a plan.  It's a direction for where you want to go.  It is a dashboard for the financial health of your family.  It is your decision process for going on vacation now, or at the end of summer or during the holidays.

A budget is assigning a job to every dollar you have right now that works towards a want or a need.

Once you start tracking how much money is coming in to your life and how that money is going out, you can begin deciding what your real wants and needs are.

THE MWN SYSTEM

The MWN system has a basic outline.  Find all of the places income is coming in and how much.  Give every dollar coming in a job.  Execute the plan and track how well you do.  Rinse and repeat each month.  Boom.  Done.  I don't need to write anymore, right?  If it were that easy, everyone would be good at it.

How much do I make in a Month?

That's easy.  My pay-check.  Well that's one source, but what about avenues of income like gifts, social security and insurance.  Your income could be variable or the same every two weeks.  Either way, you need to know on average how much fuel you packing.

Make a Plan.

Building a plan requires paying attention to what you have purchased in the pasted.  You'll need to know what you are buying every month and what you may buy every couple of months.

You can find a couple of good posts on categorizing your life and building a plan for the fuel.
